“Super” Kyle Humphrey has been an active public figure for more than 30 years. From representing the Easter Seals Society as provincial ambassador, to working with charities like CHEO, the Children’s Wish Foundation, and the Rick Hansen Foundation, Kyle has taken every opportunity to promote a better understanding of the freedoms that accessibility can provide for everyone. In his spare time, Kyle enjoys promoting local live events, and is looking to change the face of accessibility in local entertainment venues so that everyone might one day be able to access them for work and play!

ACCCESSIBLE TRAILS

Demonstration by the NCC and CanDO Society of the brand new Inclusive Mapping Tool that will provide information relevant to determining the accessibility of a trail. The new mapping tool includes information, photos and 360 video of trail features and obstacles, as well as data on slope, length, width, etc. Our aim is to make it easier for people with disabilities to access outdoor spaces by removing the guesswork and providing the relevant information for them to make safe decisions based on their individual needs and abilities.

DANCE FOR ALL BODIES

Julie Pettigrew

Devotion Dance Company will be showing some dance moves, featuring a diverse group of dancers; using a manual wheelchair, a student in an electric wheelchair, another in a chair, and an able-bodied dancer. They will highlight how their classes bring together individuals of all abilities and demonstrate that everyone can participate in the same movements, fostering inclusivity and unity.
